Thomas Muetzel, Lufthansa Technik, shared how the maintenance, repair, and overhaul company of Lufthansa has been able to significantly improve the effectiveness of Base and Line Maintenance through the application of TOC’s Critical Chain Project Management approach: aircraft availability and cost improved by 25%.

Nerius Jasinavicius presented a custom furniture producer that had very poor due date performance. This started to affect their reputation in the market and sales. Despite the drop in sales, due date performance was not improving. After reading “The Goal”, the CEO of the company decided to implement TOC in production and sales. In 3 months the company managed achieve almost perfect due date performance and increase the sales by 20%.

Martin Yordanov, owner of Richmart, co-organizer of the conference, also shared his passion for the TOC and appealed to the managers to start the TOC community in Bulgaria. “Milano Unica China is one of the jewels of the internationalization process that we have pursued in recent years, supported by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and ICE Agency, its operative arm in the world. China is such a big and constantly evolving market, especially with regard to consumer spending for the upper classes and the increased purchasing power of the emerging middle class, that not even the current financial crisis can slow down its development and modernization process. As matter of fact, according to the data published by China Daily based on the research study conducted by Fortune Character Group, more than 60% of the euro 160 billion spent in purchases in 2015 regarded luxury products, a category comprising the semi-finished products of our industry. Essentially, 46% of global luxury product sales are concentrated in China! Purchases are mainly made abroad (+12%) due to the high taxes levied by the government on luxury products which, nonetheless, did not hold back domestic sales (+3%). China (+9.6%) and Hong Kong (+8%) together, with euro 302 million in value, are threatening the leading position of Germany (euro 304 million in value) in the ranking of the first 15 countries to which Made-in-Italy products are exported,” said Ercole Botto.

The President also invites Chinese clients to visit the new Milano Unica, scheduled for September 6-7-8 at the new Rho exhibition area: “Internationalization, shared objectives, modernization, a new concept of the trade show product along with a new notion of luxury, which will no longer be synonymous with exclusivity, but excellence, will make Milano Unica the fertile ground where fashion sprouts and grows. It will turn from a trade show into a Salon, a one of a kind place.”

Meanwhile in Shanghai, led by the Trend Area, much appreciated also in the past editions, customers will have an opportunity to visit the stands knowing precisely the type of products they are looking for in their market of reference: the haut de gamme of Made-in-China fashion.

“A miniature version compared to Milan, yet very important for the customer, who will have an opportunity to enter the textile atmosphere of the summer edition, acquiring the most relevant information for establishing collaborations with the businesses while going through the fascinating and highly informative areas,” added Massimo Mosiello, General Director of the trade show.

“ICE Agency again collaborates with Milano Unica in the organization of the Chinese edition. It is a moment of great resonance for the image of our country, because this is the showcase of the industry that was able to retain and increase the European production of textiles and accessories, reaching 60% of the market share, by firmly believing and focusing on innovation and adaptation to change. The initiative is part of the “Piano Moda” developed by the Italian Ministry for Economic Development, meant to support and promote fashion product exports to China. This year, the entire ICE network present in China was involved and contributed to extending the invitation to buyers and selected operators in the main trade centers, in particular Beijing and the surrounding region, which were home to CHIC up to a few editions ago,” concluded Amedeo Scarpa, Director of ICE Beijing and coordinator of ICE China.

Dean Manev, Trade Director of Men's Fashion Cluster, shared his thoughts about the interest in men's suits from clients on the trade fair:

'At the fair in Paris there were mainly clients who produce CM and CMT. Most of them visit Première Vision to choose fabrics, linings and accessories to produce their suits. There was a rising interest in MTM - mainly from young designers, who visited the fair together with their professors from the fashion universities.

Children's jackets and suits made of natural wool fabrics are increasingly entering the market. There is a demand from England, France, Germany and other modern European countries'.

There are no limits for the men's suits any more and clever brands offer new models of made-to-measure suits every week. They also let the customers create their own models, so in fact the men's suit looks are getting more and more different and colorful. And brands choose to show their men's suits models online every week rather than twice in the year on the runway.

There are also trade fairs like Pitti Uomo which show the abundance of original models of men's suits.

So, if someone offers you to go to work in a grey t-shirt, because suits are not fashionable, just tell him that he is terribly wrong and put on your best colorful suit.

The host of this year's edition of the Oscars, Chris Rock, opened the ceremony with strong statements about Hollywood Racism in the film industry since all nominated actors were white for a second consecutive year. Before the ceremony there was an online campaign using the hashtag #OscarSoWhite. And a number of dark-skinned famous people have appealed for a boycott of the awards, but instead of refusing to be a host of the event - like he was asked - Rock came face to face with discrimination and ridiculed it in front of millions of viewers worldwide. The problem actually is that dark-skinned actors do not receive good roles in movies and therefore can not be nominated.

After the colorful fauvism explosion at Pitti Uomo Immagine, I bet on black - a black morning jacket and tailcoat, and a sealskin coat - and looked like a retired conductor or fatal melancholy, he abdicated king. And how was looking the most stylish persona during Milano Unica? Well, the handsome mulatto was dressed in an ultra slim double-breasted suit in mouse brown with very large lapels and again he was sublime ...

For some relaxation of the vanity, I went to the carnival in front of Duomo - numenly sky, Monet's impressionist paintings because of the confetti and garlands, a couple of snow white tame doves... I felt the greatest pleasure at the vintage stand, where I brought from dark wine red retrograde sunglasses with green lenses and gold inlaysand also a wonderful red wine pochette on green drops and a black bow tie with small green apples.

At the Vitale Barberis Canonico's stand, where Champaign flowed like from the cornu copiae, I had the pleasure to meet the Polish representative of the company - a cute copy of actor Jan Englert. We exchanged as a sign of mutual admiration pochettes and silver needles. I have almost given him a pair of Armani glasses, but it would be considered too much and I didn't want it, having in mind that I stay away from my career of porn and reality actor, lol...

For a hint of splendor at Milano Bergamo airport my silver handled walking stick was mistaken for a weapon, which caused some confusion. I was subsequently recognized as a magician, probably because since I haven't reached the bed, I appeared in a tailcoat at the airport... So, the last words, which I heard from the guard, when taking the flight, were 'Mr. Magic!'...

This reminded me of my memorable visit at the Sultan's Palace in Istanbul, where the safety gates rattled because of the whole silver in my pockets and during the last check, one nice gentleman, looking like the Gran Vizier, greeted me 'Masha, Effendi Charismatic!' Since then I am very desired by the Sublime Porte and the Vatican... lol

Sedentary lifestyle kills 500,000 Europeans annually. This shows an EU report on physical activity.

Sedentary lifestyle can lead to heart diseases, diabetes and high blood pressure. Even if only 1/5 of the Europeans implement these methods of prevention, this would save at least 100,000 lives every year!

- personal computers, video games, Internet and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Printerest, Instagram, LinkedIn) are a huge part of contemporary people's lives and also lean to less physical activity;

During the last few years the growth in fashion is significant. Nowadays fashion is one of the most important economical engines in our society.

Today's fashion is a grand business. Million people are hired in fashion-related companies. The fashion industry is the one, that engages the factories manufacturing materials and end products, used as details in men's, women's and children's clothing.

The fashion business is slower in the acceptance of marketing techniques in comparison with other businesses. For long years fashion manufacturers were interested in what is economical and easy to be produced. Manufacturers showed too little interest in customers' demand, but it's no longer this way - the marketing process is fundamental in fashion business.

We are interested in fashion merchandising, which is related to planning - we need to have the right fashion items at the right time at the right place, in the right quantities at the right price and with the right sales promotion for the particular target group. All this can be achieved by made-to-order and made-to-measure fashion.

Misunderstandings in fashion:

There are three main wrong ideas about fashion:

1. Designers and retailers are the dictators, which inculcate fashion - in truth, CUSTOMERS define what will be the fashionable, influencing the new design and the acceptance or the rejection of a particular style.

2. Fashion has an impact only on women - in fact, MEN and CHILDREN are as impacted as women.

3. Fashion is a mysterious and unpredictable force - in reality, its direction could be determined and the changes provided with a remarkable accuracy by those, who learn and understand the foundations of fashion. Before, the fashion was perceived as art, controlled by the designers who dictate its content. But now fashion has evolved into a science that can be measured and valued.

Let's ask ourselves:
'What small creative things I can do on a daily basis?' 
(for example, to talk with children or to look at people around me?)

Follow the direction:
Research ↔ Inspiration → Idea → Action

Why not to use our 5 senses to get inspired by our surroundings?

Let's experiment:
'What to do today that can inspire me and give me an idea?'
(for example, to walk on one street every time with a different person and to watch the world through his/her eyes)

Let's take for example my sister Alex - she is only 10 years old and her imagination is working full time. She got inspired from the stuff in our kitchen and turned them into a piece of art. Below you can see her designs for Richmart Junior Spring-Summer 2016 collections:

- It is a fact that 90% of men do not wear suits. And all men's suit brands, designers, tailors and retailers are focused to attract the other 10% to become their customers. But let us think what would happen if 50% of men start to wear suits? Then there would be enough customers for all companies on the market. That's why I think everyone working in the men's suit market should unite so that we all together show men the advantages of wearing quality suits and expand the market of men's suits.

This is a good idea. But how do you think this can happen?

- In my opinion men's suit brands have many ways to do that. I can tell you what the Men's Fashion Cluster does in this direction. Richmart is a member of the cluster and supports all its initiatives. The aim of the cluster is to unite the fashion designers, brands, tailors and retailers of suits from Europe and USA and together to create conferences, seminars, design contests, etc., at which to provide professional knowledge about the men's suit and the new trends in the men's suit business - made-to-measure and made-to-order. The Men's Fashion Cluster also opens joint showrooms in big cities across Europe and USA, where to present through the whole year the collections of its members.

If designers, brands, tailors and retailers are actually partners, who is then the competition?

- The competition are all other industries. People have a fixed amount of money and they spend for example 5% of them for clothes. We all need to convince them that they should spend 10% of their budget for quality clothes. Men should understand that wool is the best fabric for men's suits because it breaths and that suits from wool fabrics are very comfortable and suitable to be worn through the whole year. And since the best producers of wool fabrics are in Europe, this project will support the European industry and will save workplaces.

But don't you think it is still difficult to fight the process of de-formalization? Men move away from traditional culture and values generally and don't care so much about their clothes.
